Eventually, doctors amputated both of her legs. During this painful time, her family
suddenly abandoned her at the hospital. Therefore, she could not pay her medical
bills.
She had nowhere to go after her discharge. She slept on cardboard boxes on the open
hospital veranda. She faced extreme cold and deep despair every night.

Our team refused to look away. We stepped in quickly to protect her. Our donors funded her care through our livelihood support for widows initiative.First, we paid her entire hospital bill. Additionally, we rented a safe house for her. In
fact, our organization covered two full years of rent. Furthermore, our team now
brings her monthly food packs to secure her future.
