Role Summary

The Grant Coordinator supports Faith in God Charity Missions’ mission by identifying funding opportunities that sustain and expand programs serving widows, orphans, and underserved communities. Working closely with the Director of Development, Executive Director, and program leaders, this volunteer researches grant opportunities, coordinates proposal development, maintains grant records, and supports grant reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong writer who is passionate about helping secure resources that enable lasting humanitarian and faith-based impact.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, faith-based organizations, and international funders that align with Faith in God Charity Missions’ mission and strategic priorities, monitoring emerging funding trends and recommending opportunities that support long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development, Executive Director, Director of Programs, and other team members to identify funding priorities and pursue appropriate grant opportunities.
  • Gather program information, budgets, organizational data, and supporting documentation required for competitive grant applications
  • Draft, edit, and coordinate high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept notes, and supporting materials in accordance with funder requirements.
  • Build and maintain a database of prospective funders and grants calendar tracking application deadlines, reporting schedules, submission histories, and renewal opportunities.
  • Ensure grant applications and reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Collaborate with program, communications, and finance teams to gather impact stories, program outcomes, statistics, testimonials, and budgets, and use them to prepare interim, final, financial, and impact reports for awarded grants.
  • Maintain organized electronic records of grant applications, correspondence, awards, agreements, and reporting documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of grant development processes and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong grant research, proposal writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling and persuasive grant narratives.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret funding guidelines, eligibility requirements, and grant application instructions.
  • Ability to communicate organizational impact and program outcomes in a clear, compelling, and mission-centered manner.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit fundraising, grant management, compliance requirements, and reporting practices.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote volunteer team.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential organizational information.
  • Demonstrates a genuine commitment to Faith in God Charity Missions’ mission, Christian values, and compassionate approach to serving vulnerable communities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, English, Public Administration, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of practical experience.
  • Previous experience in grant writing, grant coordination, fundraising, nonprofit development, donor relations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience researching and preparing grant proposals or funding applications is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with international funding opportunities or grants supporting humanitarian, faith-based, health, education, or community development initiatives is an advantage.
  • Candidates with relevant education, transferable writing experience, or a demonstrated interest in nonprofit fundraising are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to participate in virtual meetings and collaborate effectively with a remote team.
  • Occasional participation in fundraising events, donor meetings, or organizational activities, when applicable.
